Rusted Gate Farm’s history began in 2014 with the first purchase of a farm property. Over the next four years the Farm purchased four additional properties. In 2019, Rusted Gate Farm incorporated into a nonprofit, 501c3 charitable organization and receives substantial support from the Alumbra Innovations Foundation, Inc. The several agricultural properties that now makes up Rusted Gate Farm have a long, rich history in Central Point as farmland. Many of them are still referred to by the names of the families who worked this land for many years: Castor Farm, Hanson Farm, and Straus Ranch.
Alumbra Innovations Foundation, Inc.
Alumbra Innovations Foundation, Inc. was founded by Christy Walton in 2018 and is dedicated to stimulating beneficial environmental, social and economic change by supporting innovative businesses and environmental stewardship. The Foundation is highly supportive of Rusted Gate Farm’s mission to support small farms by identifying new products, practices, and ways of generating income, and sharing this information through a robust education program with the local farm community.
